My slightly lowered car with Direzza ZII 225/45-16 tires has a slight fender rub on both sides under full compression (i.e. autocross course or really big street bumps). Unfortunately this has rubbed an area of the fender lip right down to bare metal on both sides about 2-3" long at the top of the wheel opening. My car is a winter driven car too and we use lots of salt here :-( What's my best option for fixing/protecting that scuffed area so I don't get rust? I plan to add some more camber to the front to help my autox setup ... which will also help my tire rub (I think) ... but I still need to cover up the scuffed area. Can I be successful at this without some professional paint help or am I just doomed to have it rust?

Automotivetouchup.com has primer and Ford paint in rattle cans for the DIY guy/gal.

    You have two options:
    1. Raise the car back up so it doesn't rub (then apply touch-up).
    2. Keep rubbing the fenders so rust can't develop!
