Since we're all 'fessing up, I guess I'll admit it. Not only did I see time under water in a steel tube, and not only can I find my way from AMR to the control room in total darkness, finding EAB hookups the entire way, and not only do I still occasionally sip my morning coffee from a mug with dolphins, but my father spent twenty years riding the boats, too. He retired as MMCS(SS). My quals were more specialized--medical, diving, lock-in/lock-out evolutions, swimmer delivery, that sort of thing--and my time riding boats was much shorter. But I can both recall and imagine quite a lot!
WScott--we may have crossed paths, as I was doing that sort of thing late '80s through early '90s. I was mostly East Coast. You?

For hijacking this thread, here is your bumper sticker.
No disrespect, meant only as a joke.
Wow, you guys have been busy! The bumper sticker thread has grown nicely! I stayed out of the conversation, since a lone Marine is rarely welcomed by a bunch of sailors!
I can't really argue with that. And BTW, one can include divers in that as well!
Why is it that I'm almost always involved in thread hijacking? Probably cause old fart's minds tend to wander....
We just see humor in many things.
Very good point.
As long as everyone sees the humor in which it is intended.
I'm going to hijack and add: my favorite Sex Pistols song is Sub-mission.
I also like snorkeling. It sounds like doing something dirty with an old cartoon but its actually just looking at a lot of starfish, clams and stuff.
Hey, we're just one big happy family, right? ;-)
Happy? Speak for yourself. I'm cranky and bitter.
