My Ford touch hates my HTC One. When plugged in to USB it won't charge properly, often it tells me it can't play protected music and sometimes even crashes completely, then restarts and claims it's scheduled maintenance lol.

I would really like to see Gauges on my screen! Will there be an update from ford to get them or do we have to wait for a third party hack? Or its not possible?

As a Ford representative, I do not recommend hacking the MyFord Touch system. I won't be able to assist with any modifications. If you have questions about the MyFord Touch system before mods, let me know. I'll do my best to answer them. :)

    Hi Noah,

I remember speaking with you previously, so hopefully I haven't already shared this with you. You may see issues connecting via USB with the HTC One because charging and connecting via USB are not supported by this device. Here is a list of devices that have been tested. Click VIEW DETAILS next to your phone to see which features work with the device:

Do you only see the PERFORMING SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE screen while your phone is connected via USB or is this happening randomly?
    Hello stuntdoogie,

I am unable to speculate on what future updates will entail. Continue to check your account at: to see if updates are available for your vehicle. Announcements on new updates will be posted here as soon as information becomes available:

Ah okay. Is there any chance of it being made compatible in the future, or is it down to the HTC's hardware? The performing scheduled maintenance will come up after MFT crashes, which normally occurs when my phone is connected, but it will occasionally happen randomly.

Updates to the MyFord Touch system and the phone will affect how your device interacts with MyFord Touch. I suggest staying current on both. When SYNC updates are released, they'll be announced here: Stay tuned!

The PERFORMING SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE screen shouldn't happen very often. If you're noticing it occurring at random, I suggest performing a master reset to clear the system. Press the SETTINGS corner > SETTINGS > SYSTEM > MASTER RESET. This will set everything back to default settings. Your phone will need to be re-paired once this has been completed:

Been there done that. I've just learned to cope at this point.

It's looking like a bit of both right now unfortunately. I haven't gotten very far on my end other than some random (pretty hilarious) Unicode character display shenanigans.

The master reset is the best troubleshooting I can recommend other than taking it into the dealership. Connecting that phone via USB may be triggering the PERFORMING SCHEDULED SYSTEM MAINTENANCE screen. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Just wanted to add my own educated thoughts to this thread. I am a certified Ford technology specialist at a Ford dealer. First point is MyFord touch does not run on Flash. It is a custom mobile operating system much like windows phone. Second, updates to the fiesta smaller screen come at the same time as the others. Third, please keep in mind that the system has a resistive screen, not a capacitive screen like your smart phone. If the system does not respond it is usually because you did not touch the screen properly. Also if it does not respond, do not touch several times out of frustration. This only exacerbates the problem. Finally, app link is not supported in MyFord Touch because it is not needed. All of the information about your media and all of the voice commands are available thru bluetooth. That being said, the only thing that is not supported is the auto starting of your app by voice command. You must have the app running on your phone before you go to bluetooth streaming. Just my two cents. If anyone has question about the technology and infotainment in their fiesta, just ask.

Use a hammer instead! That's an instant cure for frustration. :woot:
The only problem is that the recessed screen is hard to reach with the ball peen...

Not 100% true. Appink also displayed the artist and song details from Pandora and allowed me to switch playlists in Pandora, which MFT does not do (at least with my Blackberry 9930). I agree that some of the functionality is there and there's even new functionality that I like even better, such as the ability to have my work phone connected for voice calls and my Windows phone connected for media. But still, not all of the features of Applink are replicated in MFT as you imply.

One of the things that annoys me about the MFT system in my '14 Fiesta ST is that playing my iPhone 5 through USB, any nav system "announcement" pauses the music, but does not resume the music when the announcement is over. It is REALLY annoying. Switching the phone to BT solved the issue.

When can we expect SMS support for extremely common devices like iPhone 5?
Kind of annoyed my dad can use SMS in his Escape with iPhone 4S and MFT and I can't

This is why my windows phone works perfectly.
You people should have purchased an Apple Car not a Ford. :)

Make sure on the Bluetooth menu on your phone, you open Sync and toggle the messages option to ON.

Kim--I tried this, and failed. Twice. The SYNC system would no longer connect to my iPhone 4s (with iOS7). Had to reverse the procedure entirely to get the car and my phone talking again each time. I explicitly followed the instructions, having printed them and taken them out to the car with me. I did not do the reset to factory settings on the phone option--even with iCloud backup, etc., that's a pain in the patootie, at best, and not really a good solution. Also, kinda disappointing that at this point (months down the road after the latest iOS upgrade), the link on offer takes us to a article mentioning old 6.1 iOS updates and has no indication of iOS7.

I thought the whole text message thing was a no go on iphones because apple does not support Bluetooth text characters.?
