    It's hard to say how much for the cage alone, but this quality comes at a premium. It covers all major club racing rules -- and specifically NASA, SCCA, FIA, and even Formula D! Ha! :) Seriously, I read all the rules myself to be sure.

    I may race a series in NASA, but really it's just about building a safe and fun track car for now.

    Like all race car projects, there have been some bad surprises.

    To start, we could not get the Ford Racing Performance Parts ABS module to work! I really need to call support, but it comes down to having a completely different wiring connector. Maybe I can just buy the connector and pins and convert it? I will follow-up on this. It's too bad I didn't test fit it earlier -- only after it was time to bleed the brakes and swap the module did it become obvious!

    I also had to make a change for the wheels. While Volk did in fact make TE37s, my inside hookup there had to rescind the offer. They have the tooling -- and will make them if I can commit to 20 sets. :-}

    On the plus side, I have a pretty decent set of TireRack house brand 17x7s that are quite light (14.5# each I believe). Mine are the dark grey variety.

    There's been so many little things, but here's one that I really like...

    I had the accelerator moved up and back about 1.5" to improve heel-toe action!

    There's a lot of weight to save by gutting the doors!

    Before shot -- the USDM cross brace is now gone. Air flow has to be a lot better between this and the removal of the AC/heat exchanger.

    Here's a shot of a bigger rotor with the stock caliper.

    Awesome! I am following your build very closely. And thanks for pictures pictures pictures.

    As they say on http://www.GrassrootsMotorsports.com ... MOAR!

    (When you get the front fascia back on, a pic of the tow hook sticking through that would be nice.)

    Thanks for sharing!

    Back on topic, I'm dealing with fuel delivery now...

    Since I went with an aftermarket fuel cell, I need a fuel pump. I'm using a Deatsch Werks unit. This is a big improvement over stock, but I have yet to address the more critical high-pressure unit that will be needed to make bigger power, later. Anyhow, this is happening today.

    The big thing is that it means the car may run again soon!

    It's the one from "Gold Coast Automotive". Yes, connected to LAPP racing.
